Decarbonising long-distance bus and coach operations presents new challenges compared to light-duty vehicles or freight operations. For electric coaches, the rollout of fast and ultrafast charging infrastructure is critical to their widespread uptake. Key organisations and academics will first present an overview of coach decarbonisation options and of the enabling conditions needed to successfully overcome challenges. We will then hear from coach manufacturers and operators about their current decarbonisation experiences, learnings, and needs.
