The KIEPE trolley bus upgrade package converts battery-electric buses easily into In Motion Charging (IMC®) trolley buses.
There are 300 cities worldwide with overhead line systems, and vehicle manufacturers can offer these cities the latest technology with the KIEPE upgrade.
The transformation to an IMC® E-Bus requires just two components: the KIEPE Isolating Converter (KIC), which ensures safe electrical separation and power management, and the semi-automatic KIEPE Smart Current Collector (KSC), which connects the bus to the overhead lines efficiently and reliably.
IMC® e-buses are charged while driving and, thanks to modern battery technology, can travel up to 40 km without overhead lines. This offers new possibilities in traffic planning and greater flexibility.
