The focus of our Busworld presentation is the latest generation of the Kiepe Traction Inverter (KTI), which is cyber-secure and automotive-certified (ISO 26262). The powerful, modular converter supports both central and wheel-selective drive concepts equally efficiently and safely. In Brussels, we are showcasing the KTI in combination with electric motors from VEM.
The performance of the KTI is impressively demonstrated in the new battery-electric BMC Procity+ EV e-buses, which are celebrating their world premiere at Busworld. The on-board power supply and energy management are also equipped with KIEPE technology. The 12-meter electric bus has already passed its first test and immediately achieved a top position in its category in standardized E-SORT tests. A great achievement by the engineers at KIEPE.
The KIEPE Traction Inverter (KTI) has an input voltage of 500 V to 800 V DC and a maximum continuous output current of 350 Arms per phase with an efficiency of approx. 98%. It is compact, easy to install, and meets the safety requirements of ISO 26262 (ASIL-C, automotive standard).
