A milestone for Turkish engineering and cybersecurity innovation: Otokar’s Autonomous e-Centro has successfully passed comprehensive testing conducted by TÜV Rheinland at Hungary’s ZalaZONE Smart City. Over 30 days, the vehicle was subjected to 148 unique scenarios and completed more than 600 autonomous driving tests, marking it as the first Turkish autonomous vehicle ever certified by TÜV Rheinland.
At the heart of this achievement lies ERGTECH’s PRIGM End-to-End Automotive Security Platform, which played a critical role in ensuring the vehicle’s compliance with cybersecurity standards and regulations. By integrating secure gateways, hardware security modules (HSMs), and over-the-air (OTA) update mechanisms, ERGTECH help Otokar’s Otonom e-Centro withstand rigorous cybersecurity and safety validation processes.
The TÜV Rheinland evaluation included collision avoidance, emergency braking, complex intersection handling, overtaking, evasive maneuvers, pedestrian interactions, and real-world traffic adaptation. In parallel, ERGTECH’s cybersecurity modules ensured compliance with cybersecurity risk management (R155) and software update security (R156) — two of the most demanding UNECE regulations now mandatory for global market access.
ERGTECH’s contribution enabled real-time intrusion detection, secure communication over CAN and Ethernet networks, and protection against unauthorized software modifications. This alignment with European standards positions Otonom e-Centro not only as a pioneer in Turkish autonomous mobility but also as a globally competitive solution for smart cities.
