The Science Behind Bluewake
Bluewake was developed under the leadership of Dr. Marc Hébert, Deputy Scientific Director at the CERVO Brain Research Center, a Full Professor of Ophthalmology at Laval University, and Chief Science Officer and inventor of Bluewake. Dr. Hébert is a recognized expert in the physiological effects of light on the circadian clock, alertness, and human performance. His research over the past two decades laid the scientific foundation for the Bluewake device, particularly its use of pulsed blue light at 480 nm to safely enhance alertness without pharmaceutical or invasive methods.
The device’s patented 70 Hz pulsing technology, invisible to the eye, sits in the high-gamma range — producing a steady-state cortical response associated with sustained attention and mental engagement. This precisely tuned wavelength stimulates the brain’s natural alertness response. Unlike conventional cabin lighting, this targeted light engages the body’s internal systems that regulate wakefulness, supporting safe and sustained driving performance and increased productivity.
Safe for prolonged use and free from harmful UV rays, Bluewake has been tested extensively in demanding operational environments. In trials across multiple industries, including transportation and mining, drivers have reported marked improvements in alertness. One of the largest mines in the world surveyed its operators using Bluewake and found an extraordinary 90% reported the device as effective in combating fatigue.
