This session is in collaboration with Universita Bocconi Milano.

Integrating demand-responsive transport (DRT) services into urban bus schedules enhances flexibility and efficiency in public transportation systems. By adjusting routes and schedules based on real-time demand, DRT services can optimize coverage, reduce wait times, and improve accessibility. This integration can complement traditional bus services, especially in underserved or low-density areas. If applied smart, it allows for better resource utilization, lowering operational costs while maintaining service reliability. Ultimately, combining DRT with fixed-route buses can create a more responsive, sustainable, and user-friendly urban mobility network.
