The IDU is designed to integrate onto standard combustion engine interfaces and into existing vehicle drivelines. When incorporated into the vehicle chassis, the compact design ensures a minimal increase in driveline length.
This power can be delivered in addition to, or instead of, the combustion engine output as part of an electric vehicle mode that is facilitated by the IDU’s internal clutch.
Torque and power can also be recovered as regenerative energy, resulting in significant fuel savings and emission reductions for the vehicle.
